The neighborhood has filed a petition for removal of Board Members. Those same Board Members have said they need an "objective 3rd party" to study the efficacy of the petition before they will consider scheduling the required "Special Meeting." Do they have the authority to do that? They are shutting out the other 2 Board members from communication.read more »

When you consider that powerful, influential S.I.G.s (Special Interest Groups) comprised of the U.L.I. (Urban Land Institute), the N.A.R. (National Association of Realtors), the C.A.I (Community Association Institute), and the N.A.H.B. (National Association of Home Builders) brought the concept of "HomeOwnerAssociations" into concrete reality, it's not surprising that HOAs are structured to enforce social-psychological methods of persuasion and apply group conformity pressures in artificial cultural constructs. "Covenant Enforcement" sounds very biblical and religious in it's implications. I will never forget one "violation letter" to us from a Florida "LCAM" stating "Our job is covenant enforcement!" I live in North Carolina. Huntington Ridge is the name of my Subdivision. It is governed by an HOA. I lived there since year 2000, the trouble began in late 2004.

A couple (lets call them Randy and Joyce) purchased a large expensive house directly across the street from mine in 2003. After they moved in they started throwing their weight around, threatening to sue the HOA, neighbors, and me over the most rediculous things. They spoke often about their lawyer. These folks were really crazy, made no sense and were mean. I decided to distance myself from them. Being a nice guy I would occasionally waive as I passed them by but not speaking. They just looked at me with a snooty condesending look.read more »
