GREEN TWP. – An aging 10-feet high retaining wall collapsed over the weekend - possibly from the weight of the snow - smashing 10 cars and moving one vehicle about 10 feet through the parking lot at the Cedar Hill Condominiums in the 6700 blocks of Harrison Ave.
Amy Macdonald, a secretary on the condominium association’s board, said the board had recently discussed raising association fees and tucking aside some additional money to replace the wall. Macdonald said about 150 feet of the wall – a little more than half of it -- toppled over in the early morning hours of Saturday.
Even her car, a 2008 Ford Focus, was totaled.
“We had been discussing replacing it, but we didn’t think it would fall,” Macdonald said.
