Mother Suing Condo Over Drowning

The mother of a 14-year-old girl who died after getting trapped at the bottom of a pool is suing the owner of the condominium complex.

Lisa Ann Scott filed a lawsuit in Fayette Circuit Court against the owners of Aintree Condominiums.

Scott's daughter Kiah Milsom and some of her friends jumped a fence and went for a swim in the pool.

Her arm got stuck in a drain, trapping her underwater for almost 20 minutes.

She died at UK hospital several days later.

The lawsuit alleges the owners of the condominium complex should have known the drainage pump was dangerous.

she spent the night with her best friends,
and they did exactly what your kids are doing.
your daughters are probably out getting pregnant right now
while your sons are smoking pot in the basement.
you act like your kids would never sneak out and do crazy stuff
but theres a 9/10 chance they are.
so before you go trying to start stuff,
think about what your kids are probably doing.

also her mom didnt even know she was out
just like how you guys probably dont know about your kids sneaking out.
this was all an accident, and her mother actually had trust for kiah,
she knew kiah wasnt going to have sex with the guy,
and if you knew the guy, you would know that too.

The U.S. Federal government

The U.S. Federal government has recently addressed this issue by passing the "Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act" that requires community associations (and other public pools), including condominium unit owners associations, to take specific precautions and install particular safety features in pools and spas.

This is a tragedy, but hopefully can be prevented in the future.

Its ashame you people want to blame everyone else. What part of LOCKED GATE, FENCED AREA, HOURS POSTED, don't you understand. She broke the law and Paid for it with her life. I don't blame her for being 14, but could she READ????? Its my home! She broke into MY HOME!!!! She climbed over a fence andhedge for a 4am swim, and because mom was aware she had done this in the past......MADE IT OK????? 110% I BLAME HER MOTHER! She has to live with that decision, not me.

Are you aware kids are probably swimming in your pool right now?
You actually think kids read signs warning us not to do something.
And her mom wasn't aware of her doing this stuff.
She was a very good kid who didn't do stuff like this.
She took a risk just this one time. and went swimming.
You act liked her mother wanted this to happen, and she was awful, but saying that this is her mothers fault is not helping.
You are just pissed off because someone died in your pool so you want to blame the mother for it. If this wasn't your pool, you wouldn't give a shit.

I just don't get how you would blame her mother.
She did not tell Kiah to go swimming at 4am.
She didn't think Kiah would do something like this.
Do you have kids? because trust me, they are probably doing this stuff too.

this was in NO way Lisa's fault. i was with kiah when this happened. what no one has told you is that me and my friend tried our hardest to get Kiah safely out of that pool. while my friend ran for help i stayed under that water. i stayed down there and tired my hardest. i came up every couple minuts and puked up water. so please, if you must place blame, do not blame Lisa. she has been through enough. blame me. i was there i watched her die in the hospital. that girl was my best friend. when she died she took me with her. i have nothing to live for so PLEASE, FUCK WITH LISA! I DARE YOU!!!!!!! NONE OF YOU KNOW WHAT WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH!!!! I hope that teenagers all over hear about this. i want you to think twice before leaving your house after dark. ANYTHING could happen to you. i learned my lesson the hard way. please, don't let this happen to you, or your friends. HAVE FUN!! but be safe. think about kiah, think about yourself.

What the owner of this pool is not recognizing is that this could just as easily happened when the pool was open for use. Everyone needs to read about the Virginia Graeme Baker Swimming pool and Spa Safety Act. Accidents like this and worse are happening all over the world. It is simply tragic.
